At wellsprout Foods, we believe healthy food should never mean boring or expensive. That's why we're building East Africa's first line of mushroom-based sausages – flavorful, affordable, and rooted in local culture.
We partner with mushroom growers in Nyeri, Rongai and blend in indeginous spices to keep everything clean-label and transparent. Our mission is to bring better protein to families, flexitarians and youth without losing the taste of street food we all love.

My Inspiration
My inspiration for starting Wellsprout Foods goes back to where I grew up, sorrounded by tea plantatios. Every day 15 to 20 people worked there, and my family would provide them with tea at 10 a.m.and rice and beans for lunch.By lunchtime, even more people – especially children – would join in. I saw both joy and struggle food brought and it was also clear how limited options were.That experience shaped my passion for creating nutritious, affordable and innovative foods that bring communities together.With Wellsprout, my goal is to make safe and healthy products accessible so that food continues to be a source of nourishment, connection and hope.
